Blues

As a kid my best friend and neighbor Barbara, who had toothpick legs and could eat more pancakes than my dad, wanted more things to be blue. We wanted sky blue Mary Jane shoes (we settled for black and white gogo boots), blue ice cream (which didn’t exist in the mid sixties, so we made our own in winter with cream, food coloring and snow), and blue frosting on our Easy Bake Oven cakes (easy enough!).

I still love blue. In one of my Headspace meditation videos Andy explains that although there may be clouds above us, the sky above that is always blue. There are probaby even blue Mary Jane shoes by now!
